When I taught Integrated Mathematics 3 at the alternative high school I worked at I created a theme based course on the 1988 movie Bloodsport. Over the course of a quarter (we ran on a quarter system vs. a semester system) we explored whether Chong Li breaking Chuan Ip Mung’s neck was realistic based on the motions in the movie.
